I know you don't, and that is fine.

don't see anything nefarious in anything the company has done.

It's your money and you have every right to do with it whatever you want.

Nevertheless there have been numerous shady transactions associated with the stock. Most of the questionable ethics seem to revolve around the founder.

His underhanded 'loan' programs that resulted in he and his father soaking the company for thousands and thousands of dollars. His lies and promises associated with the first share authorization. His forays onto the stock boards to assassinate the character of his former colleagues. His abandonment of science and the dismissal of his research staff once he had the stock structure he needed to start printing shares. All of these things point to a stock swindle being fronted by a seemingly complex technology that not one of the faithful investors actually understand. As opposed to a struggling technology company trying to make it in a harsh world.

At least, DNAPrint Genomics has produced some very noteworthy intellectual property, ...

That is the biggest misconception here. There is no value in the intellectual property. Only those who are awestruck by the concept of 'patents', who think that inventors make millions once they have a patent, are impressed by those that the company has obtained. Anyone who has actually read them and made an effort to understand what they say, realize the empty shell nature of them and understand their true purpose. A smokescreen to impress gullible investors.
