Rich,

Your right. The public hearing will be great for all involved. I am glad you add your input as a member of the town of Berlin. I don't agree that the majority in town are against Laidlaw. I would venture to say that roughly 1/3 support 1/3 are against and another 1/3 are indifferent. Which means you represent the opinion not of the majority like you state but of 1/3 or less of the people of Berlin. Just my opinion. Remember oposition in all things is good and will be good for Laidlaw and for Berlin.

Another opinion of mine is that the Biomass plant is in exactly the right location. In fact you can't pick a better location. Existing structure, simular use, contaminated site. The only bad thing about the location is it is not astetically pleasing, nothing else. That is not a good reason to be against the site. Don't be closed minded. Do you really want the mill site to be unused and contaminated for the next 10-20 years or do you want a legitimate revenue producing business who is willing to invest 100s of millions of dollars into Berlin? Just some food for thought. The supporters of Laidlaw don't hate you they just think you are closed minded and wrong like the mayor of Berlin.

No, they should have a say in the matter and maybe it should go to a referendum and let ALL the people decide what is best for their community. But one thing is for sure, that old mill plant sitting empty isnt providing anyone with a job....
