Rich,

It is written in the SEC guidlines that two hearings must be held in the county where the permit holder will coduct business in order to address issues of the town. I sent the link a couple of days ago so all individuals who wanted to know the permitting process could be informed. Here it is again if you haven't already read it. The link is below. Concord will take into account every detail. The town will have its oportunity to be heard. The most likely thing that will happen is Laidlaw will be granted the permit based on past use of the site and the fact that it is zoned for that use. Laidlaw will also be given guidelines and stipulations to comply with some of the grievences of the town. The bottomline is it would be stupid for Concord not to permit Laidlaw because the site is already set up for such a project.

guidlines:

When the Committee finds that an application is complete, it must hold at least one public hearing in
the county where the facility will be located. The first hearing is held within 30 days after acceptance (90
days after filing). At this first informational hearing, the applicant must present information about the
application to the SEC and the public. This hearing takes the place of any other hearing that would usually
be required by such a proposed project, including those related to local land use regulation or state
environmental regulations. This is a central aspect of the SEC, as it brings together the review of all aspects
of the proposed project, preempting local control and providing one forum for local citizens to have input
in the siting process.

"highly influential individuals from Berlin who oppose the project." Rich what is that suppose to mean? Wealthy individual who have alterior motives. Concord wants to hear from the little guy who will benefit from the site not "Highly influentual" idiot who wants to exploit the town of Berlin.

what about the rest of the state who are going to have to put up tax money, like myself, to keep Berlin on welfare because Berlin has a new vision?

In addition to what others have said...

-NH has a mandate to start making power from renewable resources.

-NH must be constantly aware of economic development and how the state is perceived in the eyes of the business world.

-If the state of NH is perceived as difficult to work with, the business world will not move into NH. The state is keenly aware of this and told ME so directly when my company was moving here.

-This project will NOT be roadblocked by anyone in NH. It would be a public relations nightmare on many fronts, from President to pubic to economic to .....

-It will also not be shuttled through without due process. They will simply permit LLEG by the book.

Rich, BNH has barely over 10,000 residents, 12% of those live below the poverty line, the median family income is only $38,750. I know I would have a hard time raising my family on that. The population has declined steadily since 1930 interupted by a slight rise in 1960 but declined ever since. If something isnt growing, it is dying. It is apparent that BNH should be jumpoing at the chance to bring a company to its doorstep that could put the community back on a growing path. It is simple economics. And looking around at all the companies laying off thousands of people, BNH would be doing its citizens a disservice by not getting this plant up and running. Just my humble opinion and I wish you luck with your investments.....

Look at all the good that influence weilded!!!! Is Berlins Ghetto-leaning-ness and pathetic existance are themselves some sort of proof that there is NO one of any influence at all in concord. except of course Senator John Gallus who is pro Laidaw and usually only supports projects that line his pockets.
