It's not an assumption to state that IE should be defined by IE, not as a small fraction of IE.

Actually, it was DNAP who made the assumptions. Reading the forensic validation data that used to be online, I saw that DNAP picked their parentals based on their _assumption_ that these were "racially pure" (more or less their words, not mine).

In fact ABD 2.0 was to include a separate category for Europeans and South Asians, and the patent application suggested that some South Asians were sequenced.

Later they changed their mind; apprenently, the numberof markers used for 2.0 was not sufficient to get satisfactory resolution.

The story on how DNAP formatted the test may not be as clean and neat as some would like to think

Doug, understand but at the end of the day there is a superset of population which the test should ultimately be able to categorize samples into.
