daniel, check this out dude - December 28, 2008 new patent application filed by the company... patent application #20080318218...hmmmmm very interesting! clearly this company is still in business.

the patent applicatin is for "Compositions and Methods for Inferring an Adverse Effect in Response to a Drug Treatment"

Abstract:

Methods are provided for inferring whether a subject to be treated with a drug such as a statin or an ACE inhibitor is likely to suffer an adverse effect due to the treatment. Also provided are compositions for practicing the methods.

this is huge man...this is the type of patent that strikes to the heart of personalized medicine in a big way...to determine what drugs may have an adverse effect on your body based on DNA testing. This could save lives and the healthcare system a lot of money...and this is what obama's personalized medicine push is all about. maybe we'll see the company put out a press release on this? its new news after all...waiting baited breath for news lol.

thanx Daniel~
bashers need to wake up, this is probably the best thing that has happened …”they're running their own tests”…”based on the DNAPrint Genomics' patents”…

<<From the phone calls I've made to some of the AncestryByDNA distributors, considering what they've told me, my sense is that some of them have bought SNPStream equipment, and are running their own tests. The last distributor I called used wording that implied that they're running their own tests, but that the tests are the same as DNAPrint Genomics' tests, and based on the DNAPrint Genomics' patents. (A question is, how much revenue is DNAPrint deriving from such activity? I hope we find out, soon.)>>

--------------------------------------------------------------
...revenues could go up dramatically...

----------------------
Gratli1028: What's the timeline?

Frudakis: We would probably begin selling our prototype boxes within the next month or two. But once it is recognized that we're selling this box and all the labs out there are capable of buying it, our revenues could stay about what they are or it could go up dramatically.
-----
An unknown shareholder: Are you selling the box on a one time deal and could they use your technology forever or could we get a piece of the action everytime they use it?

Frudakis: They could be. The box would be enough materials maybe to run a hundred samples. When they are done running that 100 samples they would have to buy another box.

Thank you Gratli
