I just looked at yellow pages vs. internet ad spending stats this past week, and everything I am seeing has businesses abandoning yellow page advertising for online keyword search arrangements at an increasing rate.

Also, newspapers as we know them are in big trouble due to retail woes, but the trend is looking really raunchy for BLC, one I follow.

Also, as far as the yellowpages goes, I manage an ad budget for a small business and we recently dumped our ads with yellowpages.com and superpages.com in favor of google and yahoo keyword buys. So far, our click and inquiry counts are trending up. So I'm seeing some trends I personally like.

Google Inc (GOOG) reported Q4 results ended December 2008. Q4 Revenues were $5,700.90M; +18.11% vs yr-ago;
BEATING revenue consensus by +1.05%. Q4 EPS was $1.21. Adjusted Q4 EPS was $5.10; +15.12% vs yr-ago;
BEATING earnings consensus by +3.03%.

somebody kick me. GOOG was 286 when I last looked at it
