Oh, the emails were amazing. Heck, I was still on the email list for several months after I was laid off.
They had the particularly bad form to spam their "Those of you who are left are valued employees who will thrive in our new environment" email to me when they didn't have the cajones to lay me off at the same time they did everyone else. I think it was Monday or Tuesday when they said "Oh, BTW, you were laid off last Friday."
I was getting ready to express it in a way that'd be very unseemly for my "public persona", though true to form to those who know me, but I've backspaced through it and will just say "I don't like Naveen Jain. Didn't like him when he acquired GNET, and haven't since."
When they sent out an email to all the GNETters saying they really hoped they could count on our support, I wrote back only to Russ saying that while I had serious misgivings about the people he'd put us in bed with, he could count on 150% effort from me as long as it was him I was working for.
I may have misread Russ, but it doesn't matter. He inspired me (and all other GNETters that I knew) to the point that we'd have followed him to Hell. Come to think of it, I guess we kinda did. <g>
