AAPL makes money on the pod, not so much on the tunes. The songs are the reason to get you to buy the pod. That was Job's great genius as with all his ideas. He's a true legend.

What AAPL was successful at that no one else seemed to be able to figure out (especially MSFT even with their $1 bill in R&D they waste to come up with nothing) was that if you could as you say create a one stop 'go to' platform that's extremely easy to use for even the most amature of tech users and then make it extremely easy to transfer to a simple couple hundred dollar gadget, well it could be a lotto ticket.

Boy was it.

But then again it was the master mind of Jobs. This new news about his leaving makes AAPL a huge risk to own regardless of their cash on hand as everyone keeps pointing to.

I don't know how many damn times I've said it, but stocks don't trade on balance sheets - they trade on catalysts. Just look at MSFT. By that same logic, MSFT is the king. But the stock goes nowhere.

AAPL could once again regain the monentum, but the problem for the next few months will be, 'why?'. Why buy it with THIS out there. Could AAPL have really ever become what they've become in just the last 5 years without Steve Jobs? What about Pixar? Actually, I take that back. Steve Job's only vision with Pixar was the insight to fund it when they were just starting and about to implode on themselves. He saw the potential and got them off the ground. Pixar's true genius is John Lasseter.

Any bounce in AAPL will be major shorting opps I think.

You know, like I said earlier, the problem with the market right now is there's nothing cutting edge. SNDK's had flash which made it the monster stock of a couple years back. AAPL had iTunes, Ipod, and then iPhone. HANS had Monster drinks. CROX had well, crox. Here today, gone tomorrow.

There will be another. And, this year. Keep your eye out for what's new and hot and then buy the stock and hold it for a few months.
