Hi Panic Button!

Hope you don't mind, I pasted your question over on a steam forum that Harry is involved in. Maybe he will spot it after work today, as I am kind of curious myself! Thanks for the question! Harry has been very gracious in answering my questions in the past, even though he must have rolled his eyes at some of my dumber ones! LOL! later...

Purified water is water from any source that is physically processed to remove impurities. Distilled water and deionized water have been the most common forms of purified water, but water can also be purified by other processes including reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, microporous filtration, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet oxidation, or electrodialysis. In recent decades, a combination of the above processes have come into use to produce water of such high purity that its trace contaminants are measured in parts per billion (ppb) or parts per trillion (ppt). Purified water has many uses, largely in science and engineering laboratories and industries, and is produced in a range of purities.

Panic... Here's Harry's reply to your first question..

HI Ernie,
The Cyclone is a closed loop as is the radiator in your car. Of course your car uses a special antifreeze. De-ionized is a very pure water so electrical ionization is slowed down and particals removed especialy metalic. Pure distilled is ok however watch out for ozone added as in bottled water, it will destroy things. We are working on a filler gauge on the side of the engine similar to the one we have, except it will deionize the water if there is any make up used.

Maybe if Piecemaker talks to Frankie this week he can get the answer to the freeze question.. I will keep looking though.. Take care! talk to you later..
