I think that if you look at everything- the major players involved, the fact that they HAVE NOT promoted the site AT ALL yet, the testing that has been done on the site, the discreet way they have handled things, etc. are all great signs. People whine and complain about mac, about downloads, about all of these things, but what they don't understand is that it is not supposed to be functional now.
It is what it is. There's no reason to promote anything yet. There is no reason to say a word until the model is complete and they are ready to deliver. So while we all watch the daily activity and stress over it, me included, it has little to do with what will happen in the end. Because we really are not going to see the potential rise in this until the product is delivered. And they are simply not delivering the product until it is READY to be delivered. To me, that makes perfect sense and I just have to remind myself that sometimes. I think GoQ and Whattheheck and those guys are probably focused on other things, as we probably should be, but I'm sure that everyone is checking in from time to time, just to see if anyone has heard something new. It is interesting that the volume has increased in the the last two weeks, and if we see it continue to rise, hang on. But I would not be disappointed if something big doesn't happen by Midem, because it simply has no effect in the long term of the business.
They have made their statement and the potential has been seen by the volume of hits. So they know they can achieve that again, with or without a major Midem presence. It's all a question of when they feel it is the right time to let millions and millions start hitting the site at the same time. And why let that happen when they aren't comfortable with it?
