First of all, I find that very hard to believe. Second of all, "eco-greenies" tend to hate coal to begin with.

The marketing on nuclear makes it sound great. I worry about the longer term effects of making nuclear a major source of energy. The U.S. consumes 25% of the world's power, while France is very small by comparison. If France has minor problems that aren't making headlines, they may be small enough to avoid major impacts. But on a U.S. scale, I worry about the repercussions, and I don't believe the waste issue is really solved.
