but my guess is the fine rubber is for liquid rubber processing. Even if partly wrong I am hard pressed to think they don't have a buyer when they plunked down so much money time and effort to get the machines up and running.

Stranger things have happened but I think there must be a 99% chance yes a buyer has been secured. MHO
