Your last statement regarding buying choice bits of EEL instead of the whole shebang would be the only type of deal to which I wouldn't object.
Playing Devil's Advocate:
The one point I keep asking myself is if some of the best parts of EEL could be obtained for anywhere around 10-15MM why wouldn't EO purchase it for himself thru Chrome? I take it he has the money, Nigerian govt would like it as it keeps assets in Nigerian hands, and I am sure EO could parlay a deal such as was obtained w/ ERHC JDZ rights so he wouldn't be on the hook for all future drilling costs.
Looking forward to see how others view such a possibility, albeit most likely a very, very remote possibility.
