The only significant information in this news article, as far as Intel’s investors are concerned, is that the Abu Dhabi neighbors may notice the similarity between their agreement with AMD to Kuwait’s agreement with Dow Chemicals.

I agree, that is a strong indication.

Now notice this sentence:

“the deal had angered some Kuwaiti parliamentarians who said the project was not economically viable in light of the global financial crisis and slumping petrochemical sales.”

Dow Chemical isn't struggling for survival and they don't have a history of underhanded dealings. That can't be said in AMD's case. That's why I objected to the comparison. The fact that I am a shareholder of DOW of course had nothing to do with it...
