the cyberworld is littered with the burnt out husks of my imploded forex accounts (it's easiest to blame the platform) but i've been using oanda more or less exclusively for the last 18 months or so. pros and cons to each, as you know, but i really appreciate that i have control of my leverage with oanda. my trading strat is very high risk, so I temper that with lower leverage (1:40). i could not trade the way i do at 1:200 or 1:400 - I would flame out within a week.
oanda lacks trailing stops, OCOs and as you've pointed out, the ability to hedge. sometimes i want to swing trade but still scalp the same pair, so I have to use a different acct to do so. ALso i dislike the order entry. some platforms allow you just to click on your TP and SL on the chart and drag them wherever you want - oanda you have to do everything manually and I'm lazy.
