A handful of people out of 331 reviewers are upset it has copy protection (no suprises there). I wouldn’t be surprised if you and your cohorts posted some of the negative feedback just for the fun of it.

Consumer ratings for this CD is 4 out of 5 stars. It seems to me that the majority of owners are happy with their purchase.

Cool extra's and picture galleries.... I didn't even notice copy protection, could share with friends... you don't have to bypass it, it lets you do everything you want to anyways! Great tracks 9-11.

Like a lot of people, I had been eagerly waiting for this CD for months. I was so excited when I finally bought it, plus it was only 10 bucks. Anyway, I had heard some of the songs on VH1.com, and had already heard "Set Me Free" and "Slither". On first listen, I was disappointed...a lot. That was June 8th. It's now June 26th and I've listened to it everyday since. I love it. While there are a few songs I don't like much, such as "Illegal i Song" and "Spectacle", the rest are amazing. My personal favorites are "Fall to Pieces", "Headspace", "Set Me Free", "You Got No Right", "Slither", "Dirty Little Thing", and "Loving the Alien". It's a fantastic album, it really is. Scott Weiland sounds better than he ever did with STP. I never knew much about GNR, but those guys sound very strong, Slash especially. Dave Kushner is usually mentioned as an afterthought, but he really plays well and complements Slash. If you like STP and/or Slash, you'll probably like Contraband.

Maybe I'm a little biased because I was lucky enough to catch the band play some of the new material live at the 9:30 Club almost 2 weeks before the CD dropped but this album rocks!!! To all the haters out there, of course it sounds like G N' R and STP. Any musician (especially a guitarist or vocalist) with a distinctive sound will always remind people of their former band(s) (examples - Asia, Audioslave, The Firm, Rainbow, solo Ozzy or Sting, etc.). Instead, just enjoy it for what it is - a great album that was released in a more timely manner then Chinese Democracy (in spite of Weiland's troubles

This is a GREAT album. No, it is NOT Guns N' Roses, nor is it Stone Temple Pilots, it is Velvet Revolver. So many people are trying to compare VR to G N'R or STP, but you cannot do that. This band has its own unique sound and style, and the brilliance of Slash's guitar playing, Duff's Bass, and Scott Weiland's vocals combine for an awesome rockin' experience that must not be simply shrugged off because it is different than perhaps what was expected.
The collection of songs is diverse, and while it does have its weak moments, the majority of the songs are well-written and well-played. While I'm a huge G N' R and STP fan, I've got all their albums, "Contraband" is hard driving rock at it's best, and I challenge any rock band out there to try and put out a CD that is better--good luck with that.

Slash & Co. prove on this album that American Big Rock didn't die with the dissolution of the Black Crowes. The entire album has an urgency, groove and sleaze factor that's very reminiscent of "Appetite for Destruction" - yet without sounding dated. The fact that Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum are G&R alumni is immediately apparent in the band's overall instrumentation, sound and production. In fact, in many of the songs, your ears almost expect Axl's maniacal "AY-AY-AY-AY..." to come through the speakers at any second. Weiland's melodies and vocals are also a comfortable fit for the band because they are very much in Axl territory. As other reviewers have noted, the album only falters during the melodically weak and hook-less ballads. This flaw inadvertently highlights Axl's genius for all things bombastic, epic and self-indulgently melodic. It will be interesting to see if this band can follow this mostly strong debut with an equally strong sophomore effort. In lieu of a G&R album, this is excellent work.

Just got it today and just finished listening to the whole thing once. I wasn't a STP or GnR fan so comparisons with those bands doesn't mean much. The band sounds full, sophisticated, experienced, authentic, not as raw as the best of the good punk bands, but hard rockin'. I know each time I hear it, it will be better each time. It's good to see old rockers survive and revive. It just makes me so much sadder than ever that Kurt Cobain is gone. What would we be hearing from him now I wonder? Cobain was THE voice. Chris Cornell second, Steven Tyler third, Chad Kroeger fourth, and this Weiland guy is good too.

Unfortunately for you it doesn't much matter what drivel you post in your never ending effort to color positive events as negative because the simple, easily verifyable truth is, the record labels are embracing Sunncomm's technological solution to the major problem they face.

These labels have not done this lightly either but only after exhaustive tests, trials and consumer feedback all of which can be measured in months and years.

Good luck on your crusade but quite honestly your efforts are so transparent as to be laughable by any reasonable person.

This is great news for us!

While there are no doubt
disgruntled users out there, they are a tiny portion of the nearly 400,000 units sold. I would think all you MVSN folks would be happy about that, as it means more and more consumer acceptance in a market that you also are trying to break into.
