If you shorted in the 000s (as I think as you imply), you're in a hole...

Your assumptions and numbers are blatant misrepresentations, and either you don't know tax code or you do but twist it.

First, you make an unbelievable assumption on the average price per share of the holdings of both long and shorts. You have absolutely no way of making this assumption of approximately .03/share. You take nothing into account of the buy sell habits of shorts, longs, and flippers, as well as the volume of any of their sells or buys. So if we assume that you are mistaken, (and you are), of the average price per share purchased then the entire content of your post is null and void. But just to follow your logic, the tax loss is either a percentage or a maximum threshold, which is $3,000.00, thus the remaining is tax loss forwarded in to subsequent years if and when it is grreater than that.

As well, the tax loss write off of sold shares is placed as a deduction on ones 1040 which lowers your taxable income only. It is not written in the form of a check to be placed back in your pocket. lolol. Your assertion that the money is somehow just given back in your hand is absolutely comical, and that you somehow will now take this money and go and buy shares? roflol.

What you are doing at this point is a deceptive move into prompting shareholders to sell right now, and hopefully at a loss (and if they sell at the bid and a greater loss they get more money in their pocket from Uncle Sam!!!) and thus, lower the price of the stock so you can possibly buy in lower, or that you have shorted the stock and now are trying to manipulate sellers so you can cover.

This tactic is totally disingenuous and borders on the line of possible fraudulent activity, because you are at this point taking the position of a tax adviser and/or investment broker which I will now ask you to render your licenses to us, to prove that you in fact participate in either or both of these professions. Your signature or disclaimer should imply if you are in fact one of these and I would like to know. If you are not, but have represented yourself as such through your tactical commentary, I will be forwarding your posts to the appropriate authorities.

I hope noone is falling for your utterly false and totally misleading advice. It can't be legal to post that type of BS. This has to violate the terms and agreements of IHUB. Anyone who follows your advice will be in for a rude awakening, IMO.
