I have read the bible a couple of times and I feel as if I will never fully understand what GOD is saying to us. But, I do believe as you, that you can not be a 1/2 Christian.
It is one of the things I don't understand about the Catholic religion. How they confess their sins, say a few Hail-Marys, then go back to doing what they just confessed on.
Maybe that is why this song touches me so.
Some of the words are "time to give into the Lord" and "go quickly now, before they close the door"
If you have the time, listen to the words, I think it fits what we are talking about here.
Sometimes when I pray to GOD and ask why he makes me wait for my prayers to be answered. I believe it is because I do not keep myself close enough to GOD.
We all wander from him, it is the curse of having to live in the flesh. To live in the spirit, is a choice, and a choice that I find difficult to do at times. The flesh is strong, but the spirit is stronger if only I did not give into the temptation of the flesh.
So, if GOD is not listening to me, it is my fault. I blame myself for not staying close to GOD.
GOD is always there, always has been and always will be. GOD never leaves us, we leave him!
I do not want to test GOD and I do not want to be on the wrong side of the door when it is closed.
So, I pray that GOD gives me the strength to do what is right, and that I never stray too far as to be left behind when Jesus comes back to take us home. Amen.
