An opinion piece by a left-wing economist on a left-wing newspaper isn't proof of anything, but rather just another opinion.

The notion that the New Deal "wasn't enough" sounds great for those whose Keynesian economic theories run very close to socialism, but the fact is that the New Deal couldn't lift America out of the Great Depression.

I learned about the disaster of FDR's policies in Money and Banking class in the late 50's. This is not news or rewriting of history. But then nobody understood the fundamentals then as well as we do now.
