Merrill Lynch chief market analyst Richard McCabe said in a note to clients that "the market averages remain in the consolidation ranges that have prevailed since the first quarter," but believes that these patterns "will soon be resolved to the upside in resumption of the post-2002 bull market cycle during the summer-fall period."
