It's like a deck of cards. A lot of possible hands.

Liquidation?? Pay me first!!

Buy out?? Trade me shares? gimme cash? Hang me in limbo and I convert to common and sell off. Keep me and pay me dividends! I'll take that.

But in the mean time, while the company is in pergatory, the common might run a penny or two on news or rummor, But this stuff could run hundreds on news or rummor.

In fact I was thinking of starting a rummor my self!

This stuff could run up hundreds!!

I hear they got a petition to save the whales going.....

How many companies pay out $80?

If they pay out $20 per share... that would be outstanding.

maybe you should sell and move on... your expectations are out of touch....

"IF WMI can still pay those high dividends ($80 pps ?) then that is good, but if they cannot then WAMPQ will be worthless!"

or maybe you did already?

Hey prof, if you think WAMPQ is worthless without a dividend then you need to stop investing right now. A good preferred share does not need to have a high pps and doesn't need to be heavily traded to be worth a lot.

Also, WAMKQ pays out a ridiculously good dividend for its pps, and yes, the divis currently accruing are not only payable, but will be paid.

You really need to do some research on preferred stock, notes, and receipts , and do us all a favor and leave the Washington Mutual boards.

Class dismissed.
