pgerassi, making engineering samples to develope a process is a far cry from bringing up a whole factory for mass production. Why is everyone here so anxious to see AMD delay 65nm to start 300mm/90nm? Doesn't make sense to me. Bringing up 90nm at Fab 36 would mean effectively delaying 65nm until 2007 or later. It is not a freebie and I don't see what it buys.
As a fallback in case 65nm does not work in a timely manner it would make sense. However, as long as 65nm is progressing, that is the target for Fab 36.
