Evolution DataPlay video player...

Gone from the DataPlay site - now that is very interesting. It's still on the Evolution site though.

It certainly does appear that the Pogo Flipster design was the basis for what Evolution thought was going to be developed into a DataPlay-enabled player - presumably by Pogo/FullPlay. Now that the Flipster has been announced as a Flash-based player, I wonder what the deal is. Will there still be a DataPlay device based on this Flipster design? Did Pogo/FullPlay just decide not to build a DataPlay video player? Or could it be that they just couldn't get the job done?

I think that Robert had said that we weren't in the Evolution video player. Well, that would have been true for THAT player - especially if it didn't really exist yet. Looks to me like it was just a pretty picture. Perhaps DataPlay knows now that this particular device will not become reality and has taken appropriate action. It's plausible that Evolution still intends to introduce a DataPlay video player. Maybe this time they'll look to EDIG for the design. It sure couldn't hurt for it to also have DivX capability, could it?
