Sorry more specific to your question it could effect Laidlaw if a key reason for the decrease in price was broker manipulation and filling of orders for themselves instead of retail. What I will say though is currently with the volume levels on this play I couldn't say for sure if the brokers would want to affect the trade price on this stock since less than $20K is traded on average daily.
