talon68: This is terrible news. We all wish you speedy recovery with minimal scarring. A while back, I recovered (to the amazement of my learned doctors) from a dreadful malady mostly by applying ancient herbal remedies that I researched on web. Only to add that Aloe vera, rosehip oil, and natural non-synthetic Vitamin E are known for healing properties. Pure aloe vera is an age-old agent in this respect. Good nutrition naturally plays a key role in healing wounds (see link below).

In any case, follow your doctor's advice, but keep an eye out for things that do no harm but may bring some good. Be sure to check with your doctor or medical professional before applying or using anything they did not specifically prescribe.

Talon: The facial plastic folks do pretty amazing work. I used to work at one of the major academic medical centers and we had at least three (2 of whom I know personally) who did major reconstructive work on the face. I also have two friends who have had to go through these procedures. Give yourself some time and good luck.
