Every year at this time, posters on message boards get all excited about the Russell index changes. Whether GENR is or isn’t in this index (or any other index) has no effect whatsoever on the company’s underlying value, and that’s what will ultimately determine GENR’s stock price. Regards, Dew

(P.S. The index you should be referring to is the Russell 2000, not the Russell 3000. The R2000 is the subset of the R3000 that excludes the 1000 largest companies by market cap; i.e., the R2000 consists of the companies ranked from 1,001 to 3,000 by market cap within the R3000 universe of companies. The R2000 index is considered a proxy for the small-cap market and it competes with the S&P “Small-Cap 600” for passively-managed money. The R3000, on the other hand, is rarely used for indexing purposes.)
