Isn't one year from first silicon to sales normal? Or is that from first working silicon, which we are not sure it was/is.

BTW, I can't help but be a little underwhelmed by AMD's dual core schedule,

If they're getting those ASPs that we saw yesterday, why the

jhalada - You're right, knowing about the long time preparation (right from the start) of K8 for dual core, we could expect to see the first at the same time as or just a few months after the 90nm single core CPUs.

But would that have made sense or be possible for AMD with their limited development/testing/verification ressources to offer a 120% performance jump from one month to the next (90nm + dual core)? ;) Intel needs at least a little a chance to follow. Fun aside, just remember how much trouble AMD sometimes had while just introducing one single new core (e.g. Sharptooth, T-Bred A etc.)
