I guess I would question that what he wrote as an op ed would have even been reported. Look back at the news from this time. the press was incessantly talking about the iraq war.

the entire investigation of fannie in 2003 2004, nor the bills calling for regulation, nor the snow the treasury secretary's speech and resignation received 0 media attention.

we talked about it at ihub. that is the only way i even knew about it.

if you go back and read the news items about his resignation, no one ever alluded to the speeches he made about fannie and freddie. the media said he must not get along with bush. bush said he was doing a fine job. it was all allusion and no facts.

yet this is what was in finacial news, and never in the general press:
