Dunno if I've had a Whirpool encounter yet.

Our present washer and dryer are old GE rebranded units.
I replaced the washer's transmission twice, and the motor/clutch + belt once.
PITA especially given the workspace I had to work in.

Of all the North American brands out there, there are only a handful of actual manufacturers. Rebranding.
