Interesting that you found that video. Maybe he may post that on his site tomorrow in more detail.

The only service I've recently considered starting was coaching hoops. The middle school girls hoops team at my kid's school got killed 70-2 in their last game (yes, that's correct). My daughter is still half a decade away from competing on that team, but they need to build a program.

What's even more interesting and ironic is the school is using John Wooden's pyramid of success approach in the classroom.

I always liked a couple things about John Wooden. He compromised when he was wrong. He never swore or demeaned his players. He taught the teams fundamentals, and he never called timeouts at the end of a game to diagram plays. He figured his team knew what to do after all the repetition in practice.

Oh, he didn't talk about winning or wins. He talked about working hard, playing to your potential, and success would follow.

Contrast that with people like Bobby Knight, who is a coaching genius but seems to be either bi-polar or suffering from another form of anti-social disorder.

I guess I already coach. My kids will tell you a common mantra they hear from me around the house is "Maximum effort yields maximum results". It applies to homework, sports, cleaning a room, or finishing everything on your plate at dinner time.
