Obviously the future of the post split AMD with its access to bottomless pools of Arab cash is so bright that investors have to wear sunglasses. This caused them to trip over AMD, fall on it, and squash it flatter.
Maybe we can start a betting pool on who crashes through the $3 level first, AMD or JAVA (Sun). AMD is closer right now but Sun has yet to report and give its outlook.
I think that AMD's price collapse resumed after casual speculators (sometimes called investment fund managers) had time to figure out what we had been saying here about the fab sale. It is too far away to help in the short term. And in the longer term it is not really reasonable to assume that Abu D will absorb losses for the sake of making AMD look good.
I found it curious that there does not appear to be a penalty clause if Abu D delays the NY fab.
