Agreed. I was assuming they did run afoul. The present license doesn't seem to be a problem for AMD or Intel. Basically, AMD needs to work with the present agreement and then let it expire. If expired and not renewed they risk not having any new concepts from Intel, but benefit from inventing their own. That's the real risk for both, to not split the market else x86 is not x86 (not talking the instruction set here). So there's a lot of incentive for both to have a new license and compete on other grounds. I would expect that there will be a new license before expiration. Why should it say anything different?

I was hoping that a new license could be traded for dropping the suit, but that won't happen now.
