While I am not a CP fan and never have been...give him his credit..He acknowledged he was a beneficiary of Affirmative action, and he has at least made the most of it. He is an intelligent man and used the opportunities afforded him to the best of his abilities... The only issue I have with him is his denial of the fact that Obama being Black has no place in his decision...There are other ways to sidestep that issue...and to say it is Obama's economics that persuaded him to give his endorsement. That alone raises a red flag with Powell..

Obama made it clear with Joe the Plumber that he is a Socialist and believes we should equalize the playing field for all but his special elite by bringing the upper middle class down the the lower levels. This to me is what we should focus on instead of Powell.

Now about Powell stopping us from taking out Hussain..At that time taking him out was not the right thing to do...We didn't have the Army in place to control the country and it would have created a chaotic situation with the powers surrounding Iraq. When we took Hussain out this time our big mistake other then not having enough troops was to dismantle the Iraqi Army. It threw the country into turmoil and we didn't prepare ourselves for the task of controlling the ethnic cleansing that took place. It further led to distrust of the American Soldiers by the Iraqis that would have normally welcomed us.

IMO that big mistake set us back 5 years in the timetable we originally set. Fortunately Bush put Gates in charge and Gates put Petraeus in charge in Iraq and we now have a good handle on the situation and are ready for troop withdrawal from Iraq..Not all the troops but from certain areas such as the Anbar Province. From talking to Robbie's CO and reading releases our plan it to not replace all the troops finishing their deployment to Iraq and send the replacements to Afghanistan. A concern that I have and that has been shared with me from a friend, is that if Obama gets elected he will get credit for the troop withdrawal. I think that would be tragic both for our troops and America.

ALL IMO of course and I am open to others thoughts on this issue.

Make no mistake I do not like Powell's politics in the least but I think we need to concentrate on Obama's tax plans and his Socialist ideas and not Powell, who really cares who he supports..

Go McCain/Palin
