I don't know how to teach it other than all the posts that are on the CS board. But in general, with breadth so aweful, you need to be short oriented unless the price gets above the first major resistance, which would be the previous day's low. Shorts will at least start covering if price does that, then that could start a rally. But that is the first area you need to overtake for a long trade.

I always think in terms of where we are with respect to the previous day's high and low.
