Ha ha. You're right. I was comparing it against the machine that I am about to buy, not the $1000 offering of Apple. The new machines are stunningly designed which is the marketing angle they're taking with them. I don't know if you've seen the AppleInsider comparison photos, but they've managed to make the previous gen machines look, well, ordinary. The guts are secondary. John Gruber made a convincing argument for quality over price yesterday, and the new photos I've seen today tipped my personal scale. If it wasn't for the new design, I'd be picking up one of the older top end refurbs. But I'm a fanboy, so what can I say?
