I am a Republican and for NAFTA. Free trade is actually a good thing, but it is an easy scape goat for politics looking to score points in an election. Populism in both parties is exactly why we can never truly solve a problem. People do not want a long-term solution, they want short term fixes so politicians oblige them and denegrate sound economic policies in favor of winning the next election.
