#59325 RE: peeved #59320

Look, peeved... is it even possible for people to stop pepper spraying each other becasue this phrase was missing or that message implied or not covered? They could not possibly have put out a PR that was encyclopedic enough.

Look, its a small company. Its landed a big deal. It is blocked from talking because folks, who may not actually have had Spooz's best interests in mind, pummeled Bloomberg when the news of the Bloomberg deal was on the Spooz web site. So the best Paul can do is to try a difficult balancing act. So he tells what he can. He is afraid of alienating an 800 lb gorilla who has already taken a swat at him for posting the news. How on earth could he be encyclopedic about it?

He had to be cryptic to some degree. He couldn't be encyclopedic. He couldn't have covered all possible contingencies. Even attempting to explain that there was an unnamed large client that Spooz intended to focus its efforts on could have raised another rebuke from the unnamred big client we all know to be Bloomberg. Look, IMHO, the PR we got was more than I had reason to expect, to be honest about it.

I'm just delighted we got informed by a clever attempted balancing act. Bravo. Nice thing to have tried, IMHO. I think everybody can decide to work themselves gradually into a slather or they can take the info that the actual "balancing act PR" contains and quit pepper spraying everybody. It is what it is. It couldn't have been encyclopedic. It wasn't expected at all, for heaven's sake, and it DID contain a bunch of helpful info and it appears to go a long way towards explaining a whole lot of stuff people have been belly-aching about for a generation.

Look, did we know why the phones were down before he explained why in this PR? No, and having the phones down was a hell of a lot worse than a non-encyclopedic PR that tells me why they were down. I'd be likely to verbally pepper spray Paul if he failed to tell me what had happened with the phones, as opposed to pepper spraying everybody because I have been told. Duh.

And did Spooz hide the fact they had consolidated offices to save $$? No. Would we have found out eventually that Spooz and XXIS merged space? Yes, of course we would have. So, is it a genuinely good thing to have had an unexpected PR come out with info on what would have upset everybody prior to it being permitted to stimulate another upset? Well.... yeah, being told voluntarily ahaed of time was a tad more helpful than NOT being told would have been.... especially in regards to the confidence it engenders. Duh again.

So Paul honestly tells us some needed info voluntarily and he intelligently tells folks before it spills over in a foul smelling mess on its own. I'm not a victim here. I have no patience with all this verbal pepper spraying because the PR was not encyclopedic enough. But I am pleased they made no attempt to hide this set of events. And whether it is agreed to by a single person out there, I personally think that the move to close the two offices & focus only on the big deal is an excellent move. I think its good management. Period. I like it. And I like the consistency of spinning off John Unwin, letting him set up his own enterprise.... I like this. I think it enhances shareholder value and I agree with it.

Its not the end of the world to get a PR that explains ahead of time. If they had hidden this and danced and mumbled like shifty eyes crooks, it would be one thing, but they voluntarily came out with an unexpected PR before things had a chance to come off the rails. They told the world that they have enhanced shareholder value at this critical time by consolidating offices & getting themselves into a single focus mindset: only the big deal with the unnamed company. And the phones were down for that reason, but are now up. And the expenses of operating a sales & development company are 20K less a month now because, for the time being, they are not going to be both a sales and a development company.

The PR is not encyclopedic. Well, IMHO, it neither ought to have been nor ever even could have been. It had to be a balancing act that said just enough to let us know without raising any more issues the 800 lb gorilla could get his panties in a wad about, so stop pepper spraying Paul and the iHub board and John Unwin because every possible idea was not elaborated on. I'm pleased that a huge chunk of the details we have never before managed to get explained are now laid out in for the first time.

1.) The nunber of impending deals is no longer implied. Its known: one big one.
2.) The company was trying to develop any deal it could and thrashing around. Now we finally know: one big deal & for the forseeable future, it is focused on that deal.
3.) All extraneous energy is set aside: no sales department. No marketing department. No advertising department. No in-house support department. No in-house development department. A small company focused on one thing for the time being: delivering on this one deal.

Rather than pepper spryaing everybody, I think we should be holstering our sidearms and taking a breath. As far as I'm concerned, this PR was finally a breath of fresh air, if for no other reason than that we finally know the direction they actually will be sailing in for the time being.

Now, I gotta go. Resume pepper spraying each other :o)

I think spooz will keep selling, but mostly managing... the fact that they are outsourcing the support and some of the selling suggests to me that they have or will have a lot more than 1200 customers.

It's a last dying gasp to ring out more blood from the shareholders. This is a shell game so they can dilute under another entity and make you think there is progress.
