Now this is BIG, imo!!! New Institutional buys on 10/3/08 @ $1.49...some adding to their position: For example...the Riversource family of funds have added considerably to their prior existing position I believe as a major cost average maneuver. New institutional buys for 10/3/08 amount to about 5 million shares; roughly 7% of the day's volume! Few funds have sold.

if that were so, could change the PPS of these two stocks

Definitely great news. FRE/FNM will be unloading their troubled assets and I assume then use those proceeds to purchase other mortgages per their orignial mode of operations(hopefully ones with more reasonable standards; e.g. 750K home loan for a part-time fast-food worker).

That's just great for both FRE & FNM.That means they could tap into the 'bailout funds' too,in addition to the other advantages that they've already been granted.Everything seems to be falling in place,slowly & surely.
