Over here, laws are passed by Congress. Yes, the one and the same that deregulated everything and then didn't put in any oversight. Mostly, the democrats who wanted everyone to be able to afford a house, no matter what. But, actually a mix of both. The one and the same that allowed investment banks to package up crap and resell it, to package up insurance on that crap and resell that.

It's interesting that Congress is going to "have a hearing to find out who is responsible for all this!" You won't hear much after they find out it's them...
