Scottrade won't let me buy at a higher price, I've tried...not on purpose though. I thought I was getting a deal at a certain price several times and Scottrade got me a better deal. Brokers (some) generally assume you want your shares as cheap as possible, and want your business. I suppose there are some or many out there (brokers) that would let you get ripped off, mine won't.
