Touchscreen possibilities question

I started thinking about this (for the first in time in a while) after reading the following quote on this informative page, http://www.uwink.com/technology/products/hardware-software/ :

"Guests access the uWink system through 15”-17” touch screen thin-client units outfitted with a magnetic strip reader. Screens can be mounted to tables or in walls, pole-mounted or deployed as a standalone kiosk."

Mountain View touchscreens seem to be mounted to tables with a "swivel pole" (perhaps not exclusively, it's all I noticed from videos and pictures). This is very different from two-sided, table-mounted touchscreens at Woodland Hills and H&H (again, not sure if H&H has other varieties).

The Chilis Too Airport location seems to be mounted differently, though looks similar to Mountain View (all I've got to work with is the picture on the page).

My point?

I'm wondering if uWink has considered, and is perhaps still considering, a touchscreen built into the table, where you view it from overhead. Hmm, as I write this, I remember reading that they are working on ordering food directly through the I-Bar. Which is very cool. But I'm thinking more like the classic cocktail video games (for instance, Ms. Pac Man was really popular when played while sitting down from an overhead view). Something that would fit on a table for 4, not at the bar. Microsoft Surface seems to be exclusively focusing on this style of presentation.

QUESTIONS: Since we are now seeing different styles of hardware for the touchscreens, does anyone think an overhead touchscreen is a possibility? Or was this an idea that was thrown out by uWink long ago for whatever reason?

There have been a few minor complaints in some reviews of the restaurants, saying that the touchscreens get in the way of conversation. I'm sure the experimentation with touchscreen presentation is an ongoing process. Just wondering if anyone had some thoughts or insight on this area.
