On the flip side, I and no doubt others picked up some financials yesterday amidst the carnage, and tried to sell them this morning at the open for what would have been significant gains -- only to find that Fidelity's servers couldn't handle the load and the system wouldn't function. The opportunity was quickly lost on many of them (e.g., WFC) as the prices pulled back very quickly. I gave Fidelity an earful later, but they claimed they had "a number of problems" this morning as a result of the heavy volume early on. Bummer!
