economic policy always has long term effects. every president is saddled with the blame or credit for what went before. but in our world of immediate returns, all we have is political drivvel for reasons.
unfortunately, we, the public, feeling entitled, don't put out the effort of learning things. we are left with little other than that political kool-aid for sustainance. that is a starvation diet, but we expect the government to make up the difference on that too.
then....we vote.
