Thankfully I live in NH. It all began to fail when people started asking government to be their savior. I suspect it will only get much worse. The end result is a reduced living standard for many, and undoubtedly for our children.

n4807g, I should clarify what was going on here......We have people who have disabilities, and cannot work, that are genuine. If it weren't for this they would be in the poor house. We ourselves could be in that situation, and I believe as a people we would be less is we did not look out after them. They didn't ask for it.

What is an atrocity are people who work in positions to safeguard those who are deserving of it and disallow those not were arranging things for those who were on welfare and had children to transition themselves from welfare to SSD. One report was a woman in Arkansas who had 5 or 6 kids all in school, all healthy, and none were mentally or physically challenged, nor she, and she had managed to not only get them all on this, "with help of course", but their food was taken care of plus all their medical.........With all the checks, food, and medical it was costing the taxpayer approx $150,000 I think it was a year, approx $50,000 just in disability checks....................Her husband lived in the same town, at another residence...........

This is just what one person can do, and this puts a strain not only on the system but its fraud, and this kinds of stuff was going on Nationwide...........those deserving of it may not get it because of this stuff, and the ones that need it are sent down the road of jumping thru all the hoops and hiring attorneys so there medical cases can be heard.....and the ones that abused it were getting in for a song an dance.

Finally someone makes sense. When are people going to realize that all of these people we send to Washington are crooks. They are not in this to serve the people. They are in this to get rich and help out their friends. How many of these people actually retire from Washington vs not re-elected??? How many of these guys show up broke and leave broke? Every one of these con men have fat jobs lined up when they do leave and guess what our tax money got them the job. None of them can afford to fix social security because it won't get them re-elected. None of them are going to cut of the lazy people who live off the system because that might cost them votes. The fact of the matter is the system has been broken by the criminals we send to Washington so how can we expect the same people to fix it? All of us sit here and fight about why the left or right is wrong and that battle is perpetuated by the media because if you think about it how many newspapers, radio programs, and television news shows would be done if there wasn't any politics to argue about? The media is feeding this frenzy the criminals know it which allows them to keep stealing from everybody. I know what the answer is but it will never get done as long as the left keeps fighting the right and vice versus. Oh well that's my rant for the day!
