well, hollow ground with the round file is the way real men do it. chisel-bit and a grinder stand is for anal retentives.

i only stuck my saw once this year, and didn't have a wedge along, due to beer on board, on a big old lodgepole pine, so i hooked on about 10 feet up with my log chain and put some tension on it with a nylon rope tied to the pickup. i had measured right, and came within 5 feet of pulling the tree on top of the tailgate. piece of cake.

i have two years of firewood stacked up in rounds, and have been getting bids on it from termites. Splitting about 8 cords of firewood that are still left unsplit after i filled the woodshed is a lot cheaper than buying a Bowflex, but i need cool weather to split firewood otherwise my radiator boils over and i run out of beer too early.

My dog is becoming almost ready for the Cirque de Soliel, as she insists on riding home on top of the loads, on bad roads coming down out of the Warners. She has yet to fall off, i would hate to see her get road rash and have to retire over the coast like Steve or something.
