On 3-14-08 silver closed at $20.67 so silver is now down over 50% in six months.

Thanks for the info Popeye. I read an article about gold dropping 50% in '74 and then it took 2 years for it to totally recover (and then it really took off after that), so I want to compare that to what we're currently experiencing. Gold hasn't dropped that much this time (yet), but silver certainly has. I wonder how much silver dropped in '74 if gold went down 50%...

But I think oil should be getting close to a bottom now, and the dollar rally should be getting close to peaking as well, so hopefully the worst is over; at least silver's down only .06 today...
