Itronics First Half 2008 Sales up 39 Percent, Including a 35% Increase in GOLD'n GRO Fertilizer Sales and 64% Increase in Silver

RENO, NV (FRANKFURT: ITG) (BERLIN: ITG) reported today that first half 2008 sales were $1,914,000 compared to $1,374,000 in the first six months of 2007, a 39 percent increase. Second quarter 2008 sales were $1,261,000 compared to $841,600 last year, a 50 percent increase.

GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizer sales were $1,560,400, up 35 percent in the first half of 2008. Second quarter sales were $1,114,900, a 50 percent increase over the 2007 second quarter. Fertilizer sales growth achieved in the first half is expected to continue in the second half of the year as on-going fertilizer demand is at historical highs and is continuing due to global shortages of food grains. Demand for the environmentally beneficial GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizers is being driven by increased effectiveness, which improves the economics for the crop grower customers during a period of high and increasing fertilizer prices.

Silver sales were $198,000, up 64 percent in the first half. Second quarter sales were $81,000, a 56 percent increase over 2007. The Company is continuing to develop and implement its silver refinery expansion plans.

Photochemical Services sales were $71,300, down 19 percent over the prior year first half. Second quarter sales were $36,700, a 14 percent decline from the 2007 second quarter. The Company began servicing a new wholesale customer in the second quarter and expects to expand service to this customer as the year progresses. Photochemical Services sales are also expected to increase in the third quarter due to delivery of a new Photochemical Silver Concentrator to a customer.

Itronics Mining Technical Services sales were $84,200 in the first half, a 1170 percent increase over the prior year first half and a 210 percent increase over 2007 full year sales for this division. Sales in the second quarter were $28,400, a 1,593 percent increase compared to 2007 and a four percent increase over 2007 full year sales. The increase in Technical Services sales is expected to continue as the Company increases its focus in this sector.

Itronics expects to report full financial results for the first half on August 14 when it files its Second Quarter Form 10-Q. The Company expects to report an increase in gross profit and a reduction in operating loss in a strong continuation of improved operating results achieved in the first quarter.

The Company recently announced that it is proceeding on schedule with the GOLD'n GRO Guardian deer repellent fertilizer registration in 11 key states. Registration has been received for Nevada, Rhode Island, and Utah.

The Company plans to have spray kits available for testing in the second half of July. The product can be purchased at 800-368-1865.

"Silver prices, fertilizer demand and prices, and gold prices are at all time highs," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President. "Itronics, with its innovative photochemical recycling technology that completely converts the waste stream to pure silver and environmentally beneficial, high quality GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizers, is benefiting from these strong markets," said Dr. Whitney. "On-going sales growth, incremental expansion of Silver refining, continuing successful acquisition of spent photoliquids to support GOLD'n GRO fertilizer manufacturing, and completion of the first GOLD'n GRO Guardian Deer Repellent registration with the U.S. EPA, is a result of continuing successful implementation of the Company's eight part long term growth plan."

(OTCBB: ITRO) (FRANKFURT: ITG) (BERLIN: ITG) today reported a positive gross profit for the first half 2008 of $425,400, up from $124,000 in the first half of 2007, an increase of 243 percent. In the first half 2008, total sales increased by 39 percent to $1,917,000, but non-fertilizer sales increased by 65 percent and made a major contribution to improved gross profit. Operating loss in the first half was reduced by 43 percent.

The Itronics Form 10Q is now available on the U. S. Securities & Exchange Commission web site at www.sec.gov.

On a consolidated basis, gross profit in the second quarter increased to $319,700 from $111,000 in the same period in 2007, an increase of 188 percent. Gross profit in the first half 2008 was $425,400, up from $124,000 in the same period in 2007, an increase of 243 percent.

On a consolidated basis, various changes in revenues and operating expenses resulted in a second quarter 2008 operating loss of $292,000, compared to $622,600 for the second quarter 2007, a decrease in operating loss of $330,600, or 53 percent.

Net income before taxes for the second quarter 2008 was $5,552,800 compared to a net loss before taxes of $1,235,600 for the 2007 second quarter, an improvement of $6,788,400. The improvement is due to a combination of increased sales, reduced operating expenses, and an increased non-cash gain on derivative instruments related to the Company's financing.

Itronics Silver-Iron-Zinc-Sulfur Leach Process to Increase Silver Refining Capacity Up to 10 Times and Reduce Costs by Up to 90

RENO, NV (FRANKFURT: ITG) (BERLIN: ITG) today reported that its wholly owned subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., has completed pilot leach tests which show that its new process will increase per melt refining capacity by up to 10 times and reduce per ounce refining cost up to 90 percent.

Itronics Metallurgical has been working on this process for several years and described the technology in press releases dated November 6, 2007 and December 11, 2007. The silver-iron-zinc-sulfur concentrate is produced by the Itronics Metallurgical photoliquid demetallization process. The concentrate is dried and sent to the refinery for silver recovery, refining, and sale. The concentrate has a relatively low silver content in relation to the iron and sulfur. Presently some of the iron and zinc goes into a glass slag and some of the iron and zinc combines with the sulfur to form an "iron matte," which has some silver in it and which must be reprocessed to recover the remaining silver.

The purpose of the new technology is to remove the iron, zinc, and the sulfur from the concentrate to reduce the amount of concentrate sent to the refinery, and to reduce the amount of glass slag and iron matte produced by the refinery. The expected financial benefits of the process are to: (1) increase per melt silver refining capacity by up to 10 times with no increase in per melt cost by reducing the amount of silver concentrate sent to the refinery by up to 90 percent; (2) reduce waste by producing an iron-zinc bearing liquid (Itromet FeLix Process), and a sulfur bearing liquid (Itromet SuLix Process) that can be used as a raw material in GOLD'n GRO fertilizers.

Small pilot scale leaching tests conducted in the first half of 2008 are producing a recovery of iron and zinc of more than 85 percent and up to 90 percent of the contained sulfur. The bulk volume of the residual silver bearing solids is reduced by up to 90 percent. The residual solids contain all of the silver along with other non-nutrient impurities. With a 90 percent reduction in bulk volume, the melting furnace will now be able to produce up to 10 times more silver with each melt, at no increase in cost.

The other positive outcome is that the iron, zinc, and sulfur content in the produced liquids is high enough to work well for GOLD'n GRO fertilizer manufacturing. This will help stabilize some of our fertilizer raw material costs once it is implemented.

"We are excited by this positive outcome of this clean technology development," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics' President. "We are working on the leach plant design, preparing a capital budget, and a construction schedule. We project the leach plant can be built within six months after obtaining capital funding."

Itronics Metallurgical has identified several other potential applications where the FeLix and SuLix processes could reduce processing costs and reduce waste by profitably converting material presently being wasted into commercial products:

-- Processing steel wool (ion exchange) cartridges which are widely used
in the United States to perform on site silver removal from photographic
liquids at user sites where hauling is not required. Both iron and silver
would be recovered. This is a large source of iron and photo silver.-- Processing the cores of non-mercury bearing silver batteries to recover
zinc and silver.-- Processing the cores of non-mercury bearing alkaline batteries to
recover zinc and manganese.-- Processing flue dusts produced by steel mills to recover zinc and iron. This is a potentially large future use.-- Processing of concentrates produced by certain silver-zinc mines. While this would require more application development work to match the
processes to specific concentrates, its potential is huge.

"Itronics Metallurgical is frequently asked if it can accept and process steel wool cartridges. This category of silver-bearing photographic waste has not been accepted because of the narrow profit margins available. The same is true for non-mercury bearing silver battery cores. The new technology is cost reducing and eliminates waste by producing fertilizer raw materials, making it economically attractive. We have already conducted laboratory and pilot tests that have validated that the process will work on these materials," said President Dr. John Whitney.

On-going clean process technology developments are establishing the basis for continuing long term growth. Itronics' continuing expansion is a result of years of research and development that has made its innovative vertically integrated photochemical recycling technology that completely converts the waste stream to pure silver, and its high quality GOLD'n GRO brand of environmentally compatible fertilizers a success. GOLD'n GRO Guardian Deer Repellent is a direct extension of the GOLD'n GRO technology and opens up a large new market segment for the Company's products.

#2207 RE: Myis #2198

Itro has a genius scientist at the helm. Dr. Whitney has won awards....problem is, he hasn't been to business savy. So Itro has suffered with some toxic financing deals that have force the company to dilute....currently near 1.8 billion shares outstanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong). They appear to be at a pivotal point in their business plan...they are generating gross profit of over 5.5 million and many think they have potential for much more. The pps have been driven down and anchored low due in part with the threat of further share dilution...there is some speculation that Itro may have in the works alternative financing that may do away with the need for further dilution.

Great company. A pinky that is actually making money and fully reporting and is green. GL
