I have to admit I'm a little surprised that the markets are responding so favorably this morning to the government takeover of Fannie and Freddie. Obviously they aren't thinking about the long-term implications of such an action; for example, how does burdening the taxpayers by hundreds of billions of more dollars help the economy? I must be missing something here...
