Software Sales
OTE (On Target Earnings) is very dependent on type of software and industry. For a well funded hi-tech start-up company the package below would be typical:
Base: $110K
Commission: $110K
OTE: $220K
Annual quota: $1 M to $3M
Commission rate: 6-10% of sales
If you are a top sales person at EMC, Oracle, IBM, SAP, etc. then the OTE would be more in the $250 - 280K range (depending on geography) with a higher quota ($5 - 20 M) and commission rates more in the 1-4% range.
If uWink really focused on SW sales I would expect the package to be a little less - OTE in $140-180K range ($90-100K base with $50-80K commission). Depending on sales targets commission rates would probably be in 6-8% range.
These are average numbers - the more you pay the better sales people you get. However, a high performing sales force is extremely expensive. uWink doesn't have the funding a really well trained, high paid sales force.
