ummmm republican president and repub congress for 6 out of 8 years. Economy was fine when Bill left with a surplus. COme on now. They all suck but McCain at this time is not the answer. Very simple

You are absolutely correct in that assessment. The unions, especially the federal employees have an interest in increasing the minimum wage because they are guaranteed a raise in addition to their annual inflation adjusted wage.
And don't forget, the congressmen and women are federal employees too, so their incomes are increased also and by a lot more than what the lower paid minimum wage workers would benefit.

Well Trucker, you are correct about the minimum wage increases. Liberals will never learn that our job market works best as a free market. Every time the minimum wage is increased, it is akin to placing tarriffs on imported goods. Of course when the price is artificially raised, the demand will go down. Now, add new taxes to grwoing S Corps and what is going to happen? Yes, further loss of jobs. I just can't fathom how some of these people think raising taxes on small businesses as Obama wants to do will help!

In addition, fuel prices have had a large impact on our employment rate as the high prices have slowed our economy. Well, what if the Liberals had not been stopping new Nuclear Plants, new refineries and new drilling for the past 20 years? Yes, our fuel prices would be far lower and our current accounts would look much better. Of course though, this is all Bush's fault in their minds.

so what you are saying is keep the wage the same and never raise it for cost of living increases?? so for 12 of the past 14 years when the repubs were in charge everything was great an in the last 2 years the dems ruined everything?? the repubs have been in the whitehouse for the last 8.
